Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, is recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982.
The historic center can be visited on foot, starting from Santa Maria Novella (where the Central Train Station and the Tramway stop are located) to get to Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens.
It would be better to visit Florence in 2/3 days, but even in a whole day it is possible to admire the masterpieces of the Renaissance and, perhaps, also one of the Museums (Uffizi, Bargello Museum, Accademia Gallery, etc.).
